EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
ABOUT UNDERFLOOR HEATING

Wet vs Electric Underfloor Heating

There are two types of underfloor heating: wet (hydronic) systems that circulate warm water through pipes in the floor, and electric systems that use heating cables or mats. Wet systems are more efficient and cost-effective to run over the long term, making them the preferred choice for whole-house installations or large areas. Electric systems are simpler to install and better suited to smaller areas like bathrooms. We specialise in wet UFH systems.

Is Underfloor Heating Right for Your Home?

Wet underfloor heating is most cost-effective when installed during a new build, extension, or major renovation — when the floor is already being opened up. It works with all floor finishes including tile, stone, wood and carpet (with appropriate tog ratings). It's compatible with condensing boilers, heat pumps and solar thermal systems. Our engineers will assess your property and advise on the best system design for your specific requirements.

Installation Process

Our UFH installations begin with a full system design, calculating pipe spacing and heat output for each zone. We install the manifold, lay the pipework in the screed or between joists, pressure test the system, and commission it with your boiler or heat pump. We provide full zone controls and thermostats for each room, and we'll walk you through the system operation before we leave.
